Getting Into The Swing Of A New Year

I realize I am about three weeks behind everyone when it comes to sharing my New Year Resolution, or that little truth that God has shown me which I cling tightly to until the end of 2012.  I almost feel that I should apologize, but honestly I can't.  I am really not one for New Year's Resolutions nor am I one who says God speaks to me at certain times of the year or that his truths from yesterday are any less important than the truths of today.  None the Less I am pleased to share that I am working on a study for 40 days on the book, Wild Goose Chase, by Mark Batterson.......

I am on the third chapter and am in awe.  I love the books where Men and Women of God ever so eliquently illuminate God's truths!

In the first Chapter Mark talks about the Scripture in Luke 9:59- "And he said to another follow Me, " but he said Lord, Permit me first to go and bury my father. 60 but he said to him, "Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God".     I cried when I read this as God had previously brought it to my attention in June of 2011.  I was so moved by the urgency of Christ's words here.  Our world is one that is struggling.  In many places we do not have days to make life changing decisions, or weeks to carry out the best laid plans, instead we may have hours or even minutes.

I have prayed over this passage and have felt it is a call to arm ourselves and to answer the call to fulfill that which God has laid on your heart, or to work with the tools that God has equipped you as unto his kingdom.

Join with me in search of the Holy Spirits leading for the next 40 days.  Share if you will what truths you are finding..... or different places you are seeing him at work.

Coveting that which we love.

How much do you value the things of this life that you enjoy?  I think it strange that people will say, "I love Starbucks, or I love that song, or I love this perfume, car, sports team........" and the list goes on and on.

I wonder if any of us really stop to think about the implication of loving something which cannot be capable of loving us back.

This seems to be what God was referencing when he said you shall not build for your selves false idols.......  (those things which we value in a way that we were only meant to value God.)
Over time this has bled into how we love each other and the understanding that you cannot fully love something that cannot receive that love.

Do you realize that even if someone does not know you love them or does not reciprocate that love that you are still called to love them.  To be a beacon in a dark world, to endure regardless of the obstacles that stand.  Regardless of how they react to you they still receive your love.  Their spirit man is aware of the love you show toward that person and it affects that person's life, their decisions, their thoughts, and their self image.

What if we were crazy in love with God, with Jesus Christ the way he is for us.  What if we were as excited to meet with him each day..... the same way we are excited to meet with our coffee or our special treat or fun time......
